To order your tag:  Please send the completed form below and your check for $31.00 made out to NASW, MS Chapter.   We will be accepting orders until April 30, 2009 at the close of the business day.

To pick up your tag:   You will be notified by NASW, MS Chapter that the tags are ready, which should be summer of  2009. At that time, you will need to take your current car tag to your county office to exchange for the social worker new one.  At that time you will pay all regular county car tag fees needed, if any, to exchange your current tag if you are not in your renewal month.  You will have sixty (60) days to pick up the tag.  If you do not pick up the tag during this time, you will be charged the special tag rate of $31 again at the county office in addition to the pro-rated fees, if any.  Each tax collector's office will have a list provided by the Tax Commission of people who have already paid fees and are entitled to the tag.

FCC Digital TV Panel: Reaching Low Income Consumers

Some of you have been contacted by the FCC’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs about helping to promote the switchover from analog TV to digital TV by February 2009.  Luisa Lopez, Acting Director for the Practice, Human Rights and International Affairs Division of NASW, participated on a panel coordinated by FCC to better inform FCC staff and commissioners about how to best reach low-income consumers. That panel was Webcast live on www.fcc.gov/realaudio and broadcast on local cable stations.   We hope you will feel free to provide members information about the effort using materials from the www.dtv.gov Web site.

The projected effective date is February 1, 2009.
