Advertising Policies

All advertising is subject to the publisher's approval.  NASW MS reserves the right to reject advertisements for any reason at any time and is not liable for any alleged loss or damages if an advertisement is omitted for any reason.  NASW MS complies with the provisions of applicable federal and state laws prohibiting discrimination.  Placement of ads will be at NASW MS's discretion, although advertiser's preference will be met whenever possible.  The placement of an advertising order constitutes an acceptance of all the rates and conditions under which advertising is sold at the time.

Social Work Job Vacancies - Ads for social work job vacancies must be submitted in the required format.  We will not accept/edit material from brochures.  There is a $50 charge per job vacancy with 100 words or less.  There is a $80 charge per job vacancy with 101-200 words and a $100 charge per job vacancy with 201-300 words.  This charges are based on one month listings. You may submit information by email at naswms@bellsouth.netor by fax to 601.936.0559.  Payment by check or money order must be received PRIOR to publication, and made payable to NASW, MS.

   REQUIRED FORMAT--- The length of job vacancy is completely up tot he advertisers discretion. however to gain maximize exposure, it is recommended that you include the following in you website advertisement.

  • Name of Company and Location

  • Title of Job Vacancy

  • Salary Range

  • Job Description

  • Qualifications

  • Contact information (web address can be included)

  • Method of submitting application (in person, fax, mail, or email)

  • Time Restrictions (if any)

Additional Advertisement Rate - All ads in this category must be related to the social work profession and subject to NASW, MS approval.  The ad should be submitted as camera ready copy.  There is a $25 additional charge if ad is not camera ready. Ads are limited to 1/2 page, approximately 7 X 5 inches.  The cost is $300 per month.  All advertisements must be paid PRIOR to publication by money order or check payable to NASW MS.  E-mail camera ready digital ads in .doc, .gif, .jpeg, or .pdf format to naswms@bellsouth.net .

National Network for Social Work Managers

Mark Moses Distinguished Fellowship Award

The National Network for Social Work Managers is seeking nominations for the 2009 Mark Moses Distinguished Fellowship in Social Work Management.  The Fellowship recognizes outstanding contributions or potential for excellence in social work management and provides support to attend the Network's Annual Institute in Orlando, Florida, April 30-May 1,2009.  Awards will be given in three categories:

  • College faculty currently teaching a social work management course
  • Social work management students
  • Social workers with an MSW or BSW in a supervisory or management position in an organization providing social services

Fellows will receive the following:

             1.     a travel stipend of up to $500 to attend the Institute

             2.     a waiver of the Institute registration fee

             3.     a one year membership to the National Network for Social Work Managers

Fellows will be expected to attend the Institute and write a brief article on a management topic for publication consideration in the Network's newsletter.  Nominations should be made by email to Laurie Perlini, Administrator, at: nnswm.org@gmail.com.  Nominations must include the nominee's resume, a statement of no longer than 1,000 words that provides a rationale for this individual's nomination as a Distinguished Fellow, and a letter reference from a senior level practitioner or faculty member other than the nominator.  The deadline for nominations is January 15, 2009.
